Choose to Live
The following passage was sent to me and the author is unknown:
"As we grow up, we learn that even the one person that wasn't supposed to ever let you down probably will. You will have your heart broken probably more than once and it's harder every time. You'll break hearts too, so remember how it felt when yours was broken. You'll fight with your best friend. You'll blame a new love for things an old one did. You'll cry because time is passing too fast, and you'll eventually lose someone you love. So take too many pictures, laugh too much, and love like you've never been hurt because every sixty seconds you spend upset is a minute of happiness you'll never get back. Don't be afraid that your life will end, be afraid that it will never begin. "
When I read this passage, I thought of how many times we make excuses. I thought of how many times we feel sorry for ourselves because of some situation we are facing. I thought of how many times we take forgranted the many blessings we have been given. I thought of the many people who have chosen to take their own lives because they thought there was no other way. For whatever reason, they could not deal with their pain and their suffering in this world. We have been given the world. God made us. He bought us. He paid a very precious price for us. Even in our ugliness and our sinfulness, he gave us self worth. We are special to him. He does care about our situations. He does care about our trials. These trials can make us faithful. They can make us endure. They can make us strong. And if we ask him, he will help us. If we live for him, he will walk with us.
Let us go through the upcoming season with a thankful heart. Let us thank him for the trials that will make us strong. Let us thank him for those lessons that we have learned because of the mistakes we have made. Let us make things right with people that we love and don't look back. Jesus died for our sins. He shed his very blood so that we wouldn't have to ever look back on our sinfulness and our ugliness. He gave his life so that we would forever be free of guilt and shame. He suffered so that we could have eternal life. Let us focus on that blessing. We are alive. We will live eternally. Let's make the choice to be thankful. Let's make the choice to live for Christ. Let's make the choice for heaven. Our time is short. Let's just do the best we can. Make the choice to live. Talk to God. Read the Word. Take hold of his hand. Just one day at a time, wake up in the morning and make that choice. And at the end of the day sing to the Lord, "whatever my lot, thou hast taught me to say, it is well; It is well with my soul."
May God bless your week. Margie
