God's Hands
Our children sometimes sing the song, "He's got the whole world in his hands." Do we truly believe those words as we sing that song with our little ones? As Christians, have we reached the level of spiritual maturity that demonstrates our faith in God's hands. In my Bible study this week, I read a passage by David when his heart was in anguish. He asked God in Psalm 39, "But now my Lord, what do I look for? My hope is in you." I find the Psalms very comforting when I am broken hearted. They show the importance of praising God and showing Him that He is the answer when our heart is broken. David many times poured his heart out to God and asked repeatedly for God to hear his prayer. He stated in Psalm 38:15, "I wait for you, O LORD;
you will answer, O Lord my God."
How do we put things in God's hands? Psalm 42:1-2 states "As the deer pants for streams of water, so my soul pants for you, my God. My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. when can I go and meet with God?" Are we actively seeking God? Psalm 46:1 says, "God is our refuge and strength, an ever present help in trouble." Psalm 48:14 says, "For this God is our God for ever and ever; he will be our guide even to the end."
When we are facing tribulations, we must remember to keep our focus away from Satan. Don't look at what Satan wants us to see in a situation. We must keep our eyes on God. Psalm 55:22 says, "Cast your cares on the Lord and he will sustain you." He does have you and me sister in his hands. He's got the whole world in His hands.
