The Bible for Women
Weekly Devotional
This is the fourth in a series of five lessons which embraces songs in our
worship by my friend and sister in Christ, Wanda Hankins.
I’ve chosen ‘I Will Call upon the Lord’. Read the words:
I Will Call upon the Lord
I will call upon the Lord
Who is worthy to be praised.
So shall I be saved from my enemies.
The Lord liveth, and blessed be the Rock,
and let the God of my salvation be exalted.
The Lord liveth, and blessed be the Rock, and let the God of my salvation be exalted
Do we call upon the Lord? When we have problems or worries, do we give those problems and worries to Him or do we hoard them for ourselves? Do we spend valuable time thinking about all of our problems and even counting them when we speak to others? “Cindy, you wouldn’t believe all the problems I’ve had today! I fell when I got out of bed; I burned the toast, etc…..” You get the picture. When we become Christians we can always call upon the Lord to help us! Give Him our problems and worries! He will take our small worries and our huge problems onto His shoulders! He loves us!
Praise the Lord when we pray. Thank him for being there when we need Him! He is our Savior! He didn’t die to be forgotten! He died so that we could live! He ascended into Heaven so that we could be saved! He is Christ, our Advocate, the Bread of life, the Son of the living God, our Creator, and our King. Bless Him every chance we can! Talk to Him every day! Read about Him in the Bible.
Make Him our lives!
“I call to the Lord who is worthy of praise” – Psalm 18:3
May God grant you peace this day! Wanda
